Homemade Banana Bread Recipe





Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Set your oven to 175°C (350°F).
    • Grease a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the wet mixture:
    • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
    • Add the eggs, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla (if using).
    • Mix well until smooth.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Mix everything:
    • Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture.
    • Stir until just combined. Do not overmix (this helps keep the bread moist and fluffy).
  5. Bake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool:
    • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
    • Remove and let it finish cooling on a wire rack.

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • A sprinkle of oats on top for texture
